Linda Leathersich
Linda is a quiltmaker, quilt teacher, quilt designer and professional long arm quilter who feels very blessed to have her passion as her profession.
She started quiltmaking in the early 70's when her favorite aunt, Alice Rogers, called and asked if she would take a quilt class at the local high school. The classes were offered in the continuing education department. Well, they took the class and the rest is history.
Almost 30 years, over 400 quilts, and several prize ribbons later, she still loves it. Her work has been published in the magazines Quilter's Newsletter, Foundation Piecer, Miniature Quilts, and a Brazilian patchwork magazine. Her quilting can also be found in the new book, Elm Creek Quilts, by Nancy Odom. She quilts for other people on her Gammill long arm quilting machine. She purchased the machine in 1999 and has quilted more than three hundred and fifty customer quilts. She has traveled to Brazil to teach and give lectures at their PATCHWORK FESTIVAL, as well as teaching in several states and at her home.
Linda's husband, Peter, said that she was the first person he ever met that had more fabric than his mother. Peter is a retired Presbyterian Pastor, and enjoys counted cross-stitch, reading and Linda's quilts. She is blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, two daughters and a stepdaughter who are accomplished quilters, and a stepson, a print maker.
Linda eagerly looks forward to her teaching and quilting schedule and enjoys meeting people and sharing her knowledge of quilting. Linda would love to quilt a quilt for you. She can be reached at:
