Downtown Cumberland:
Stroll along Cumberland's pedestrian mall and visit the antique, quaint specialty and gift shops and enjoy the growing Arts and Entertainment District. Observe the outstanding architecture and visit the many great alfresco restaurants. Cumberland has many fine galleries and museums.

This is a tourist destination utilizing the historic resources of the area, and coordinating private and private sector development. The major focus of the heritage area is the rewatered western terminus of the C& O Canal.

Museums and Galleries
The Cumberland area has a growing art community for your exploration. These are but a few options:
- Allegany County Arts Council, 9 N. Centre St., Cumberland. Includes the Saville Gallery – Artwork of local, regional and national artists. Open M-F 9am -5pm, Sat. & Sun. 11am -4pm.
- Allegany County Museum, 81 Baltimore Street, Cumberland 301-777-7200. Tues-Sun 10am – 4 pm. History of Allegany County. Contains photo exhibits on history of Cumberland and history of architecture in Allegany County; displays on archeology, Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, brewing industry, glassware industry, fire protection and numerous other artifacts.
