The Marjorie Coffey Award - As a NQA judge I will be looking for a new creative technique that is well executed. It can be a new binding technique, a creative value/color arrangement or a new design element.

The Best Use of Color Award - Judges will choose one quilt specifically for Best Use of Color and it will receive a ribbon and $25 award.

Money prizes ($50 for First, $30 for Second and $20 for Third Place) and Ribbons for each of the following catergories:

• Appliqué
• Celebrate America Challenge
• Embroidery
• First Quilt
• Miniature (24" x 24" or less)
• Mixed Techniques
• Pieced - Hand Quilted
• Pieced - Machine Quilted
• Large Wallhangings (greater than 45" x 45" or 180" perimeter)
• Small Wallhangings (less than 45" x 45" or 180" perimeter)
• Wholecloth (preprinted fabrics or kits will not be accepted)

Ribbons only awarded for:

• Accessories (pillows and clothing)
• Groups (5 or more quilters)
• Juvenile (crib, etc.)
• Kid's Work (age 14 and under)
• Novelty (Yo-Yo, etc.)

Display only, no prizes or ribbons

• Heirloom/Vintage Quilts (quilts made before 1940)

Ribbons will be awarded in all categories except heirloom and vintage. Cheaters cloth items are not eligible. Quilts will be judged unless entrant specifies for display only. Winning quilts from our previous SQG shows will not be considered for judging; however, they may be hung for display.

Judges for cash awards are certified by the National Quilting Association, Inc. All judging decisions shall be final.

Judges for non-monetary categories will be a panel of very experienced SQG members. All judging decisions shall be final.
